Update Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos with Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware

XXAMCE Jellybean 4.1.2 is the latest firmware for Samsung Galaxy GRAND DUOS I9082  This all new update fixes all the issues pertaining to overheating of the device near the Camera at the rear and also some minor bug fixes have been done.

We will also come up with the Rooting process for your Galaxy GRAND DUOS on XXAMCE Jellybean 4.1.2 firmware. Please note that applying this update won’t root the device / void the warranty.

Quick Pre Requisites:

• Create a backup of all the data with the help of below mentioned steps and not with the help of KIES or ROM Manager.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”

• Assuming that you have created a backup of all the data with the help of below mentioned steps, you need to turn Off your phone so that it can be entered in the Recovery Mode.

• The Galaxy Grand Duos I9082 can be entered into the recovery mode by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device.

• In recovery mode, select options to clear and wipe the data present in your phone. Once the data is wiped, you then will have to select the option of “Reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode.

• Download XXAMCE Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware Package and Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, open Odin in your computer. Ensure that you are closing the KIES which generally runs in the background.

• Turn Off your Galaxy GRAND DUOS so that it can be entered in the Download Mode. Download mode in Galaxy Grand I9082 can be entered by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button after which a green robot will be shown indicating the Download Mode has been entered.

• Connect your phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then you will see that the ID: COM section will turn Yellow indicating that all the drivers are installed successfully.

• Click on “PDA” to select the tar file which you will get after extraction and click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update. As soon as the firmware is updated successfully, the device will be rebooted. The process of firmware update takes around 4 -5 minutes.

• Once the firmware is updated, you can navigate to the path “Settings > About Phone” where the firmware version can be checked where the current firmware version will be mentioned as Jellybean 4.1.2 XXAMCE.

Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
