- As this is the custom ROM firmware, you will need to make sure that your HTC One X smartphone is rooted. To check on whether your HTC One X is rooted or not, you can download the “Root Checker” app from the PLAY Store and check. Just in case if the device is not rooted, you need to root the same with the help of below mentioned steps.
Rooting Information: Rooting
& Unlocking of the Boot loader in HTC One X is a must so as to make sure that
this Jellybean update can be installed. Once the device is rooted, the warranty
will get void. The only way with which the warranty can be reclaimed is by re
applying the Official firmware update. Download Root Checker app from Google PLAY Store.
Proceed to the next page from the

will help you upgrade the device firmware with the latest Jellybean.
- Download the Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware Package and Google Apps from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place the zip file of firmware in the device.
- Open ROM Manager app in your device, if it’s not there download the same from the Google PLAY Store. You can enter the device in the recovery mode, either with the help of ROM Manager or manually. Recovery Mode in HTC One X can be manually entered by pressing the Volume Down + Power button and then select the option of Recovery to enter the device in the recovery mode.
- In recovery, select the option of “install zip from sd card” and then the file which you have placed in your phone. Once you have selected the file, it will take around 3 -4 minutes for applying the update.
- Once the update is applied successfully, you will get to see the message as “install from zip card complete”. Now, select “go back” and “reboot system now” for booting the device in the normal mode.
- Please be noted that since it will be the first boot for the device after the firmware application, it will take more time than expected. It may take even more than 4 -5 minutes for the first boot.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence
or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just long press the Power button and
re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned
